Finally the efforts of Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister, N Chandrababu Naidu has paid off. Leading smart phone manufacturer Xiaomi which is quite popular in India for it’s MI phones is going to setup a manufacturing unit in Visakhapatnam (also called Vizag), Andhra Pradesh.
Yesterday, Xiaomi’s vice president Hugo Barra has posted on his Facebook account a picture showing up a hoarding in Vizag. This is the hoarding which you will see once you come out of the airport. The hoarding shows “Make In India” logo with Mi and Govt of Andhra Pradesh logo which raised the speculation of a new manufacturing plant in Vizag.
Recently Chandrababu Naidu has visited China to attract investments in Andhra Pradesh. As a part of this he visited Xiaomi’s office as well which responded positively to his proposal.
Barra posted another picture today with Manu Kumar Jain who is working for Mi India before the Novotel hotel.
Meanwhile, the chief minister also tweeted that he would be launching a Mi phone today which has raised the expectations of the announcement that is going to come up.

Chandrababu Naidu is going all guns attracting investments. Recently Airbus has shown an interest in setting up a manufacturing plant and Indigo airlines shown an interest to make Vizag the hub for their operations. Also the startup village that has been opened up recently is going good.
